Officiating FAQ's

Your wedding ceremony is the most important ceremony of your life. It should be one of your all time favorite memories. I want you to look back on your day with joy and love and peace, wanting to live it over and over again! If you’re looking for the absolute cheapest option, we probably aren’t for you. And that’s ok!! I know that we offer a premium, personal service that is completely customizable to your needs. Each officiant invests 8-10 hours into each ceremony to make sure it’s of the highest quality, while other ministers use a templated format often saying the same thing for each wedding. We are able to add in favorite memories, include pets, and present a variety of ideas that will make your wedding completely YOURS. After all, this is YOUR big day!

Couples are legally required to get their own marriage license. Your county website is the best place to get an appointment. For those in Maricopa County, the button below will take you there! After the ceremony, we’ll sign the license, and I’ll take care of mailing your license back to the courthouse. This way you and your guests can get on with the celebration!

I always ask what style and colors each couple is using so I can compliment their style in what I wear. This is your day!

My typical ceremony lasts 15 minutes, but can absolutely be shorter or longer depending on what you want to include in the ceremony.

Absolutely! I’ll direct your guests on who needs to go where for pictures and who gets to start cocktail hour early. Unless told otherwise, I usually instruct guests to turn off or silence their phones before the ceremony begins. I’m also comfortable telling your guests to not have their phones out during the ceremony if that’s something you would like.

I’m always a fan of couples writing their own vows. I am more than happy to assist with different techniques and writing tools. If that’s not your thing, I have a few pages of pre-written vows you can choose from!

Often your wedding coordinator or planner is here for this. However, if you’d like me to, I can for an additional $150.

Of Course! I love thinking outside the box on these! Some of the favorite ones I’ve done include mixing a favorite cocktail, tying a Celtic Knot, and building a rock cairn! Oh! And this one time a family of five throwing paint on a canvas! Your unity ceremony, if you decide to have one, should bring out your own flavor!

Elopement FAQ's

We choose to work with soul mates who are authentic, adventurous, joyful, and PUMPED to get married! We believe in creating an authentic wedding experience that is tailored to your personality, love story, and vision for your wedding day. We believe in the power of connection, so the first step in our process is to schedule a video consultation after filling out our contact form. This gives us a snapshot of who you are, what you envision for your day, and usually causes Shelby and I to have a mini dance party! If we decide you are the right fit for us, we will email over a Custom Invoice + Agreement, have you submit your deposit, and then we enter the “Discovery Phase” of our planning process. We can’t WAIT to meet you!

Shelby and I create our magic by being very involved with the couples we choose to work with. When you book with us, you are working with US during the entire process. We choose to work with a select amount of couples each month. If your date happens to be taken, we can add you to our waitlist. We also have a second team full of joyful, talented, wedding collaborators who feel like family! Since everything is all-inclusive, some couples choose to be flexible with their wedding date and send us multiple date options. We believe in being available and present for the clients that we do work with.

Heck yes we are! We are based in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, but LOVE traveling to all of the beautiful landscapes our world has to offer. Travel outside of AZ begins at $1000 and is calculated based on location. We’ve created a Travel Schedule of places we are already going and we WAIVE OUR TRAVEL FEE if you book an elopement within our travel dates.

Depending on the package you choose, an initial deposit of $1,500-$5,000 is due at the signing of your agreement to reserve your date. The remaining balance is split up into 2-3 installments, with the full balance due 30 days prior to your special day.

You are looking to book with us, because you get US! Shelby and Rich, the creators of Let’s Knot and Say We Did, are the vendors involved in making your day special. Shelby is the lead photographer, and Rich will be your officiant. We only work with vendors that we know and trust. This ensures that YOUR wedding day will be full of good vibes from the moment you wake up to get your hair + makeup done to the moment you’re sharing your first dance among the views of your choice. We believe in creating a sacred and beautiful experience, and part of that is being very selective with who we allow into the ceremony space. 

Absolutely! We’ve been very intentional about creating packages that include everything you need for your day; however, some couples choose to add additional photography, additional floral, hair and makeup for additional people, limos, party busses, luxury picnics, champagne toasts, etc. Everything we do is completely customizable, so we can truly make anything happen for you!

All of our packages come with a base of 4 hours so that nothing is rushed. Shelby can get detail shots, pics of you getting ready, and capture little moments throughout the time spent with you leading up to your ceremony. She’ll capture the ceremony, any group + family photos, and then take you guys off for an epic sunset adventure session. The time actually flies by pretty fast. If you want her to capture your reception as well, we can definitely add more time with her!

Shelby’s mantra for her photography is: “Capturing Moments so You Can Stay In Them.”

Shelby does a lot of “prompting” versus posing and views her photo sessions as joyful experiences! We love people who think they’re awkward. You’re usually the best at being real, authentic, and just really fun to be around! You do you…enjoy each other! We encourage couples to do a “date night” or engagement session, and Shelby will tag along. You guys can choose somewhere adventurous, or just hit up a coffee shop/your favorite microbrewery. Afterward, you guys can wander. When you’re just having fun with each other- Shelby will sneak in, do her thing, and you’ll have great images from your time together. From an evening in the city, to wandering in the desert, to wading through streams, to hiking to somewhere epic, we’re down to wander with you and capture magical moments. And we promise it won’t be as awkward as you think!

Our focus is on creating an intimate and unforgettable Ceremony. The cost of dinner and reception are not included in any of our package pricing.

For our Elopement Packages, we do make suitable dining recommendations and reservations on your behalf. We get to know you well enough to make recommendations that we know you’ll enjoy. Some of our couples even have us hire a private chef to cook dinner for them at their Air Bnb.

For our Micro-Wedding Packages, You are responsible for the handling of reception.

Our intention is to create the perfect Ceremony space and capture moments so you can stay in them.

Some couples who come to us already have an ideal location. If that’s not you, don’t worry! Picking the right location is part of what you hire us to do. During the “Discovery Phase” we go over all the locations and get an idea of what you really want your scenic backdrop to look like.
