Intimate Wedding on Bell Rock
If you’re looking for a truly intimate wedding experience in Sedona, Arizona, we have got you! When we think of Sedona, Arizona, the iconic red rocks come to mind. One of our favorite formations is Bell Rock. Its grounding vortex and healing energy is perfect for an intimate wedding ceremony. This incredible rock formation offers breathtaking views that are sure to make your special day even more memorable. And what could be more romantic than saying “I do” in the red rocks of Sedona?
What is Vortex Energy?
Vortexes are said to be areas of concentrated spiritual energy that are conducive to meditation, prayer and healing. The Sedona area is home to four major vortex sites: Airport Mesa, Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock and Boynton Canyon. These sites have become popular places for people from all over the world to visit and experience the area’s unique energy.
If you’re planning a trip to Sedona or are considering having your wedding here, we recommend checking out at least one (or all) of these amazing vortex sites!
When you plan your intimate wedding at Bell Rock, there are a few things to keep in mind.
- The area can be very crowded during peak times. We recommend (and require) a shuttle service to be booked for this location. The last thing you want is for grandma to get lost or Uncle Joe waiting 30 minutes for a parking spot to open up. Because parking is very limited, hiring a shuttle service has helped to alleviate a lot of stress the day of the wedding.
- Because it is a popular spot for tourists, we recommend having someone to direct your guests to the ceremony spot. We do this for our couples + guests every time. We show up to the airbnb, help everyone get into the shuttles, and make sure everything is running smoothly the entire day.
- And finally, because it is a sacred site for many, please be respectful of the land and leave it better than you found it.
PRE CEREMONY
Travis’s mom was so excited for them! Giving moms special moments throughout the day helps them to not only feel included, but also important and loved.
Pro-Tip: If your mom is really wanting to help out with the wedding or asking you a million questions, give her a few tasks that will make your life much easier (and help her help you) like picking up champagne/drinks, snacks, plates, cutlery, etc. This may seem very small, but it may make a big difference to give people tasks so they feel included and helpful. People want to help you! So let them!
Madison and Travis tied the knot in October, a few days before Halloween. They wanted to incorporate some spooky season fun into their wedding and had a blast doing so!
Wearing a black tuxedo with a black shirt, Travis looked dapper as can be. He had to incorporate the Jason mask, even if he didn’t actually wear it for the Ceremony! Madison donned a flowy white gown with lace detailing and looked like an ethereal goddess.
CEREMONY
Their intimate wedding ceremony took place on Bell Rock a few hours before sunset and it was absolutely breathtaking. The red rocks glowed in the light of the setting sun and created a magical atmosphere for Madison and Travis to exchange their vows.
HAND-FASTING CEREMONY
Madison and Travis chose to do a hand-fasting ceremony during their wedding and had a thick cord tied around their hands as they exchanged their vows to one another.
A hand-fasting ceremony is an ancient Celtic tradition in which the couple’s hands are tied together with cords or ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to each other. Ancient Celtic weddings often lasted for a week, and each day of the week represented a different phase of married life. While no one wishes to be tied to anyone for an entire week, it is still a beautiful tradition that symbolizes the bond of marriage and two souls becoming one.
It was such a beautiful and unique way to symbolize their love for each other!
We believe in the power of writing your own vows.
Vows are not only a way to share your commitments to one another. They are setting the tone for your entire marriage. Words hold within them energy and power, and when you speak promises and love filled intentions out loud you create an energetic bubble around the two of you. And it can be felt by the people around you!
When you write your own vows, you can infuse them with as much love and commitment as you’d like. You can also write about things that are important to you and make promises that are unique to your relationship. They also don’t have to be super serious. Throw in some silly jokes, little moments, or sing a few lines from your favorite song. Much like everything else we do, we are committed to having your entire wedding day be an authentic expression of YOU + your love.
MAKING IT OFFICIAL
WHAT TO WEAR WHEN GETTING MARRIED ON BELL ROCK
If you’re planning on getting married on Bell Rock, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. The terrain can be a bit tricky in places and you don’t want to risk twisting an ankle in heels.
Other than that, the sky is the limit! You can wear anything from a flowing white gown to a simple sundress. Just make sure you’re comfortable and able to move around easily.
As for the guys, again, comfort is key. We recommend wearing pants that you can move freely in and closed-toe shoes. A suit or tuxedo is always a great option, but if that’s not your style then go for something that makes you feel like a million bucks.
The most important thing is that you feel like yourself on your wedding day!
CAKE CUTTING
Of course with this Halloween Wedding, we had to get spooky with the cake cutting! Moody vibes for our beautiful bride and groom! The Jason mask had to make another appearance for their reception.
