The BEST part about a Colorado Elopement, is you get to celebrate in whatever way is authentic to you. Sometimes this involves an off-road adventure. And that’s exactly what Irish and Warren chose to do.
THE PERFECT COLORADO ELOPEMENT
We were able to meet up with the Lara and Warren in person before the day of the wedding in Ouray, Co. All of us grabbed food and drinks, and we were able to connect with them and the videography team Deeply Rooted Wedding Films! We really just wanted to calm any pre-wedding nerves and be a part of their excitement!!
Ouray Colorado is one of our favorite locations because the little mountain town always feels like home. Everything is in walking distance, and the trails out there are STUNNING. But what most people go for is the off-roading. There are many off-roading passes like Yankee Boy Basin, Imogene Pass, and Cinnamon Pass to name a few. They are all breathtakingly beautiful full of mountain overlooks, streams, waterfalls, and gorgeous views.
We got to know each other over video calls, and we enjoyed every minute of it! This fun + beautiful bride and groom chose one of our All-Inclusive Choose Your Own Adventure Elopement Packages so that they could show up with peace, knowing everything about their wedding day was taken care of.
We held the ceremony up at 12,500ft elevation, one of the most epic places we’ve done a ceremony at! Shelby took breathtaking photos and captured their wedding day in joy. Rich created a personal and unique ceremony that was all about their love for another. He weaved their story throughout the ceremony and made it a sacred + joyful experience for everyone.
GETTING READY + DETAILS
We started the day with the two of them having breakfast together at thier cozy airbnb in Ouray, Colorado. After they got to hang out and soak up their morning, the two of them began getting ready in two separate locations! Irish was made to feel like a queen by a local Hair and Makeup Artist who let her get ready at the salon in the heart of downtown Ouray.
Warren got ready back at the airbnb where he was feeling all sorts of excitement, nerves, and absolute joy. Rich and I stopped by to check on them both and to bring some grounding, loving, and joyful energy into their day. We were SO EXCITED for them and always make it a point to get our couples anything and everything they would need to make this day 10000% spectacular for them.
And this is why we do a First Look…
The first look usually calms any nerves, allows you to breathe, and gives you time to soak each other in. Even if it’s just the two of you, the first look on your wedding day is a moment we strive to create with peace, joy, and magic in mind. It’s a perfect way to have a moment together during a Colorado Elopement.
After their first look, we of course took the opportunity to take some gorgeous bridal portraits before we walked through town to go to our Jeep Rental!
My goal is to document the entire day- every little moment and every little opportunity to capture the fun, joy, and feelings that you’re feeling on the day of your wedding. Plus you get multiple locations and different points of view in your wedding album!
To get to some beautiful remote locations, we usually have the couple rent a 4×4 and off-road ourselves! Lara and Warren decided to have us hire someone to take us up so we could all enjoy the ride together! And it was AWESOME.
We made a few stops along the way up the mountain because the views were too spectacular not to take advantage of!! The lakes in Ouray, Colorado are beautiful. The reflections of the mountains are wonderful to capture as part of your wedding day memories.
COLORADO ELOPEMENT: CEREMONY

We ALWAYS encourage our couples to write their own vows. When else are you going to have a chance to declare your love and commitment to one another? Rich always has a grounding presence, and enters the “Love Bubble” after the couple declares their love for one another. It’s such a special thing to witness, and we can tangibly feel the energy shift. Rich loves to speak from his heart + intuition in these moments. Not everything we do is on script. And I think that makes what we do pretty special.
It started snowing during their vows!!! This was a once in a lifetime moment. And we are so glad we got to be a witness of their love. THIS is what Colorado Elopements are all about- once in a lifetime love.
This beautiful Colorado Elopement Ceremony was held at 12,500ft in the middle of the San Juan Mountain Range. With 360 views of gorgeous mountains in the background, this ceremony site created the perfect backdrop for an intimate wedding. Little Bucket of Flowers created her petite bouquet. We are thankful for such amazing wedding collaborators. Every wedding we do is special, unique, and sacred- and our wedding vendors know this. We hand pick each vendor who has the best energy and positive vibes around! It’s an absolute pleasure to work alongside such beautiful creatives who are full of joy and love for our couples.
