What Happens If It Rains On My Wedding Day?

A question we get asked a lot is: What happens if it rains on my wedding day?! Well, in our opinion, rain adds to the adventure. But on this day it SNOWED! Which is actually pretty rare and one of the most beautiful things to witness in Sedona. You see, rain and clouds make the red dirt even redder. The lighting is always GORGEOUS. And as long as everyone is positive, we truly have a really amazing and fun time. I also think it adds a little adrenaline to the day (and who doesn’t want a lil hit of that on your wedding day lol).

If you are in any way concerned about weather, I would suggest booking your Sedona elopement between the months of March-May or Sept-Nov. Please avoid the summer because it does get up to 110 in Sedona June-Aug.

Keevana and Devin decided to do an off-road adventure style elopement. They wanted the ceremony to only include the two of them, but still invited people to celebrate with afterwards.

Rich and I arrived right before hair and makeup was complete to get some beautiful getting ready shots and details of the rings, vows, and beautiful flowers.

They rented a huge airbnb so Devin got ready downstairs and Keevana got ready upstairs.

FIRST LOOK

Their First Look was truly priceless. We did their first look at Lover’s Knoll which is a spectacular pull off on the side of the road towards Red Rock State Park. Cathedral Rock is in the background, and you can see quite the view of Sedona without having to hike too much (it’s a 2 min walk)!

After the nerves were calm from finally seeing each other, they hopped in their rented Jeep to go up to their ceremony location!

THE CEREMONY

During the Ceremony it began snowing! They exchanged personal vows, rings, and laughs as Rich led them through their ceremony. They also wanted to sage the rings and sage each other as part of honoring their past and stepping into this new chapter together. It was beautiful to witness and capture for them.

One of the prettiest first kisses ever. I loved taking these photos and capturing the way Devin looked at his queen. There’s so much that goes into a relationship. When you’ve overcome so much together, all of the struggle, work, and effort is recognized, seen, and honored during the wedding ceremony- whether it’s physically spoken or just understood.

“I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you.”

THE FIRST DANCE

While the first dance is usually a sway, them getting down was also a good way for them to keep warm as it was definitely cold. I wanted to give them the best experience, so I worked really fast to get the iconic pictures they deserved and so they could warm up in the jeep! They weren’t bothered by the cold (this tends to happen from all the nerves and excitement!) but I wanted to be mindful and make sure everyone was taken care of!

Sedona Elopement

After the adventure of hiking around and enjoying the view, we all got back into our off-road vehicles and made the way back down the cliff. It gave us all a chance to warm up so our fingers could sign the marriage license!
